Hi, I was just wondering is anyone knew of John Monk aka “Whale”.
If you did – is ther anything you can tell me about him?
Comment by Jenna — November 25, 2008 @ 12:51 pm
Rob
We only went to up to Thomastown a few times. We knew John Bowie who hung around the city at the time. Heaps of sharps out there and the photo in the album of the Thomastown Sharps were taken when they came down to Moorabbin in ’78 as the punk scene was taking off in Melb. It was to see a mates band “No Exit”, who were all ex Sharps, with the West Side Sharps coming down as well. The night was reported in the local papers of the time when the cops had to “assist” us on our way home and banning any further dances at that venue.

Hi Stoj
It is possible. I hung around Box Hill in 1976, mainly with Mark Houtching and Shane Monaghan although I was friendly with Nick Fontana, Paul Thorougood etc. I do remember a Janine.

Hi Stoj
I was a bit of a gypsy in my youth. I remember Mark’s sister and his younger brother Paul. I ran into him about a decade or so ago. He was a tradie working in Carlton and I was a uni student.
That could be me!
